Manhood

What is Manhood?

It refers to ones participation in their own masculinity. The world tells us many things about “masculinity.” The mind typically assumes toughness and stoicism, maybe being muscular, attracting women, being productive, making a certain amount of money or having a certain standard of living. All of these are built up by a secular culture and present us with a false masculinity. To understand our masculinity we must first come to understand where it comes from. And the real question isn’t “from where,” but “from Whom?” Our masculinity is bestowed on us by Jesus Christ at the moment of our conception. It cannot be added to or lessened. Christ came to this world and gave us the perfect example of “being a man.” But not living by His example does not make a man any less of a man. Simply put, our actions have nothing to do with our masculinity. Our actions affect our character and our virtue but not our manhood. Our job here on earth is to live by the example of Christ and to teach our sons and other men to do the same. How are we to do this if we do not know exactly what that example to men is to begin with? It is our calling as an organization to teach the truths of masculinity and restore all men to the truths of Christ.
